Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is appointed by the City Council to help plan for growth and development within the city. Members of the Planning Commission provide an invaluable service to our community. They advise the City Council and city staff on a variety of subjects by making recommendations on important policy matters affecting the livability of Eugene.

Historic Review Board
To help accomplish its historic preservation goals, the City of Eugene established a seven member historic review board (HRB) in 1975. As a subcommittee of the Eugene Planning Commission, the HRB convenes quarterly and oversees Eugene’s Historic Preservation program, the Cultural Resource Survey Program, historic education and outreach, preservation programs, and makes determinations on designation of City landmarks, recommendation of properties for the National Register of Historic Places, moving of historic landmark buildings, demolition of historic landmark buildings, appeals of historic alteration, and demolition permits.

The following applications are typically reviewed and heard by the Hearings Official: Conditional Use Permits (CUP), Planned Unit Development, Tentative Stage (PDT), Willamette Greenway Permit (WG), Zone Change (Z), and Appeal of a Planning Director’s Decision.

Envision Eugene Technical Advisory Committee
The Envision Eugene Technical Advisory Committee (EETAC) plays a key role in Envision Eugene implementation projects. These projects currently include the Growth Monitoring Program and urban growth boundary (UGB) analysis and previously included Urban Reserves planning. The EETAC will review technical information used to inform policy decisions, provide feedback to staff on technical-related issues, and maintain institutional memory regarding assumptions and analysis related to long-term growth management-related efforts.
