- Police Chief Recruitment
The City of Eugene worked with Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to assist with efforts to recruit and hire a new Police Chief.
The search to find a recruiter was thorough beginning with a nation-wide search, followed by a call for proposals, interviews by stakeholders, and finally reference and background checks. Interviews involved several community members in addition to City staff including representatives from the Human Rights Commission, Police Commission, Civilian Review Board, and Human Rights Work - a group that represents a number of local organizations that have expressed interest in the process.
SGR has worked on a many national recruitments for executive level positions including police chiefs.
We collected feedback at a wide range of community events and meetings throughout the summer and fall of 2017, concluding with a series of community forums at the end of October.
