Congratulations to Marley's Monsters, the 2021 Bold Steps Award Winner!
This year, Marley’s Monsters was named winner of the Bold Steps Award by Eugene Mayor, Lucy Vinis.
Marley's Monsters locally manufactures reusable products that replace single-use disposable products in households and offers sustainable solutions for bath, beauty, and home. Marley’s Monsters is a woman-owned company with a successful online presence and has grown from 16 to 70 employees since 2018. All Marley’s Monster’s products are handmade in-house from raw material and the company also offers locally made low-impact living essentials.
The business gets to take the Bold Steps trophy to display for one year.
For the City of Eugene, sustainability means considering and balancing all three aspects of the triple bottom line – people, planet and prosperity – to address the community’s present needs without compromising future generations. The Bold Steps award recognizes businesses that embody this vision and are taking bold steps in each area of the triple bottom line.
To qualify for consideration for the Bold Steps award, businesses must be located in Eugene, and certified through the Rethink program, offered through BRING Recycling. Through Rethink, businesses receive free, on-site consultation to reduce waste and save money.
