Eugene’s Sick Leave Ordinance was repealed on January 1, 2016. Statewide sick leave law is now in effect.
On June 22, 2015, Governor Kate Brown signed Senate Bill 454, enacting a statewide sick leave law that went into effect on January 1, 2016. This legislation preempts local governments from setting any sick leave requirements. As a result, Eugene’s ordinance was repealed on January 1, 2016.
