Sick Leave Ordinance

January 2016 Update

Eugene’s Sick Leave Ordinance was repealed on January 1, 2016. Statewide sick leave law is now in effect.

On June 22, 2015, Governor Kate Brown signed Senate Bill 454, enacting a statewide sick leave law that went into effect on January 1, 2016. This legislation preempts local governments from setting any sick leave requirements. As a result, Eugene’s ordinance was repealed on January 1, 2016.  See the Administrative Order repealing the Sick Leave Ordinance.
