Since 2008, the City of Eugene has been performing manual bike counts each spring. These counts provide an estimate of how many people ride bicycles in high use corridors. Starting in 2012, the City partnered with Central Lane Metropolitan Planning Organization to deploy automatic bicycle counters. This provided an opportunity to count bicycling trips in all four seasons and increased the number of locations that could be counted.
No current events. Counts take place in spring and fall.
Please contact Lee Shoemaker, Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator, if you would like more information (541) 682-5471.
The city will be assembling an annual report based on automatic counting data and intercept survey results. Please check back for updates or see Central Lane Metropolitan Organization website.
