Recruit Training

When new officers are hired by the Eugene Police Department, they must undergo extensive training, both in the classroom and in the field, before they are released to patrol duties.

The Eugene Police Department's recruit training regimen includes the 16-week basic police academy offered by the State of Oregon, plus eight weeks of additional training not covered in the state-mandated curriculum.
