Community Organizations

The JWN has many community organizations within its boundaries:

  • Chambers Area Families for Healthy Neighborhoods (CAFHN) CAFHN ("caffeine") comprises residents of the "Chambers Special Area Zone" who organized to have effective resident involvement during the City’s 2004-2005 "Chambers Revisited" project. CAFHN members now work to assure the infill standards that Council adopted as a result of this project are maintained and enforced.
  • Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI) CLI is an educational, research, and technical assistance consortium aimed at increasing public understanding of the risks and opportunities posed by global warming and enhancing climate protection policy and program development.
  • Jefferson and Westside Residents for Healthy Neighborhoods (JWReHN) JWReHN ("Jay-Wren") members are residents of the Jefferson and Westside "heritage" neighborhoods in Eugene who are committed to healthy neighborhoods. Members advocate for livability and sensible compact growth.
  • Residents for Responsible Rapid Transit (RRRT) RRRT formed in November 2006 to assess potential impacts of a bus rapid transit (aka "EmX") route through the Westside residential area and to identify and evaluate alternative routes to the proposed W. 11th Avenue corridor.
