What is considered junk, and where can it be stored?
Junk includes, but is not limited to scrap, used building materials, appliances, fixtures or used furniture. Junk cannot be stored from more than 30 days in a location that is visible from the street or public right of way. See Eugene Code 6.800 for more information.
Different city departments or other agencies respond to junk complaints depending on where the junk accumulation is. If the junk accumulation in question is:
On private property within Eugene city limits, the city’s Zoning and Nuisance staff responds to complaints about junk that is visible from the street and in place for more than 30 days or more. Contact Zoning and Nuisance staff at 541-682-5819.
In the public right of way within Eugene city limits, the city’s Public Works staff responds to junk abandoned within the public right of way. Contact public works at 541-682-4800.
