Current photo identification and proof of current address are both required to get or renew a library card.
A current Oregon driver license or Oregon ID card meets both requirements.
If you choose to use a preferred name for your account, we understand that your ID and proof of address may show a different name.
Current Photo Identification
One of the following from any state or country:
- Driver license (cannot accept temporary cards)
- Government-issued ID card
- Official student ID
- Military ID
- Passport
- Lane County Concealed Handgun Permit
- Half-Fare LTD EZ Pass (issued to patrons with disabilities)
Proof of Current Home Address
Requirements: Home/residential address, not PO Box or business. Originals only; no photocopies.
One of the following:
- Unexpired Oregon driver license with current home address (not temporary card)
- Unexpired Oregon ID card with current home address
- Dated personal mail addressed to your name only, with postmark date within last 2 weeks
- Current utility bill in your name: electric, gas, landline phone, cable, or internet (mailed or on your mobile device)
- Current bank or credit card statement in an envelope mailed to you in your name
- Signed original lease or rental agreement and a current lease/rental receipt dated within the last month (paper or on your mobile device)
- Completed address verification by an agency providing services to the homeless and others in transition, signed and dated within last 2 weeks. Provider must contact Eugene Public Library for requirements.
