Preparedness for Schools

If disaster struck your school today, how would you or should you operate? In any school crisis, school administrators are the first responders. At what point should a crisis be turned over to other agencies? What responsibilities do administrators assume once that happens?

The threat of disasters and unexpected events such as floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, and terrorist acts is always present, and it is important people are aware of how to properly respond to lessen injuries and deaths. This is especially true for children in schools. Schools must have emergency preparedness plans to guide students to safety.
