    Outdoor Intro

Increasing Our Human Connection to Nature

Our outdoor classes, camps & special events, including the Spencer Butte Challenge Course, Team Adventure & Urban Adventure programs, are designed and implemented with the intention to:

    • Reduce Nature-Deficit Disorder, a rising concern in our population.
    • Teach outdoor skills that build a safe foundation for individuals to explore nature and increase their potential for healthy and fit lifestyles.
    • Emphasis Environmental Stewardship in support of Eugene as a "green" community.
    • Overcome barriers that prevent residents of Eugene from experiencing the wonders of our outdoor environment.
    • Provide outdoor activities that increase the opportunity for personal growth and peak experiences.
    • Connect people in our community and nurture those relationships we build via shared outdoor experiences.
    • Maintain our history of being an excellent program for people with the outdoor passion to become competent and skilled instructors.
    • Enhance the livability of Eugene, the world's greatest city of the arts and outdoors.
