Neighborhood Associations Overview (2)

What are the benefits of participating in your neighborhood association?
Neighborhood involvement gives you an opportunity to have a voice in decisions that affect the livability of your neighborhood. Your neighborhood association is a great way to partner with other neighbors, the City and other organizations to develop solutions to shared problems. Being part of a neighborhood association connects you to people who share your vision of a healthy, vibrant and safe community.

How you can get involved… Neighbors playing
Neighborhood associations are volunteer organizations that thrive and grow when everyone (that’s you!) is involved.

  • Attend a neighborhood event or meeting, read the newsletter or check out their website
  • Volunteer at a neighborhood event such as a picnic, potluck or neighborhood clean-up
  • Organize your neighbors and apply for a matching grant
  • Improve neighborhood safety by organizing a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) or neighborhood watch group
  • Contribute to your neighborhood newsletter or website
Serve on the board of your neighborhood association
