An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness
Are You Ready? An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness (IS-22) is FEMA’s most comprehensive source on individual, family, and community preparedness. The guide has been revised, updated, and enhanced in August 2004 to provide the public with the most current and up-to-date disaster preparedness information available.

Are You Ready? provides a step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness by walking the reader through how to get informed about local emergency plans, how to identify hazards that affect their local area, and how to develop and maintain an emergency communications plan and disaster supplies kit. Other topics covered include evacuation, emergency public shelters, animals in disaster, and information specific to people with disabilities.
CERT Training

CERT TRAINING
The City of Eugene offers CERT training classes to train community members so they may support professional emergency first responders following a major disaster. A series of 8 class sessions provide information useful to individuals in assisting family members and neighbors following a catastrophic event. CERT training culminates in a mock-disaster exercise for all participants. Training is funded in part by grants through the Department of Homeland Security, community donations, and by the City of Eugene’s Emergency Management Program.

If you have any questions, please contact us at 541.682.5665 or email to cert@ci.eugene.or.us  For more information, check out the Eugene/Springfield area CERT web site www.eugene-cert.com and the CERT TRAINING FLYER and COURSE OUTLINE at the links below.
