The Planning Division now accepts the electronic submission of plans and other application materials!
In an effort to better serve the community, embrace today’s changing technology and be more sustainable, the Planning Division is taking a first step towards becoming fully digital by enabling the submittal of plans and other application materials electronically. We feel that now, especially given recent tough economic times, is the time to make this change as we believe electronically submitted applications will reduce costs for applicants.
The Planning Division previously required the submission of multiple copies of plans and supporting materials for each application. On July 1, 2011, we began the transition to electronically submitted application materials. Accepting application materials electronically reduces the number of paper copies that we require, saving everyone time and money and, in addition, is more environmentally friendly. We also expect that reviewing applications electronically within the Planning Division will be more efficient and result in applications being handled more quickly, reducing the amount of time that it takes to move an application through the approval process.
As of August 1, 2011, only three paper sets of plans and application materials, plus one full electronic (pdf) set on disc, are required for land use applications.
We will closely evaluate and adjust procedures, if needed, over the next six months. This is new terrain for us and we welcome comments, suggestions or recommendations regarding these changes and how we can better serve you.
See the Land Use Application Process and Forms page for submittal instructions. If you have questions regarding this process, please contact to Amy Janisch, Land Use Planning Specialist (541-682-5699).
