Scobert Gardens main content

Scobert Gardens

Location: 1180 W. 4th St.

Originally called Blair Park, Scobert Gardens Park was created with less than $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant Funds in 1983. Hundreds of hours of volunteer labor and energy have been devoted to the creation and upkeep of the park.

Scobert Gardens Park sports Eugene’s first playground with a fully rubberized safety surface. The surfacing has proven to be a cost-effective, low-maintenance and safe alternative to materials traditionally used in playgrounds such as sand, engineered wood chips, wood shavings, and pea gravel. It is wheelchair accessible and meets both the American Society for Testing and Materials’ safety standards and the Consumer Products Safety Commission’s safety guidelines.
