Library ArtWelcome to the City Recorder's Office!

The City Recorder’s Office functions as a point of access for the general public and news media to elected officials and the organization. In addition to being the City’s Elections Officer, the City Recorder is the City’s Records Manager, maintaining and distributing the Eugene City Code, Charter, ordinances, resolutions, and administrative orders. The Recorder’s office also manages the City’s archives, coordinates public records requests, maintains all the City’s contract files, and records city-related deeds and land use agreements.

Domestic Partner Registry

Domestic Partner Registry

The City of Eugene human rights ordinance provides for a Domestic Partner Registry, through which unmarried opposite-sex or same-sex couples who share a relationship of mutual support and commitment may symbolically document their relationship. Please note that the City’s registry differs from the State of Oregon’s Domestic Partnership program administered through Lane County Deeds and Records. An Oregon Domestic Partnership is available only to gay and lesbian couples and provides legal rights and privileges not offered by Eugene’s registry.  More information about the State program can be found at http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/chs/order/dp.shtml.

Couples interested in registering in Eugene may schedule an appointment with the City Recorder’s Office by calling 541-682-5042 at least three days in advance of the date on which they wish to register. Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2 and 4 p.m.  A sample of the Domestic Partner Registry application is available in the Reference Library at left.

The Domestic Partnership Registry Information sheet, in the left hand column, describes the domestic partner registry in more detail.
