METRO AND COMMUNITY PLANNING Metro and Community Planning focuses on major, multi-year projects that will yield information and policies to help guide economically, socially and environmentally sustainable growth and development patterns over the longer term. These projects are exploring how and where the city will grow and develop, how to balance compact growth with protection of neighborhood character, how to create walkable neighborhoods with good transit access, what additional natural areas need protection, and how to address neighborhood needs in a neighborhood-based planning context.
