Envision Eugene in the year 2030. Envision your neighborhood, home, job, school, and your favorite parks and shops – and how you will get there. Our community is starting a conversation about how we will grow and change over the next 20 years.
The Eugene Planning Division is organized in two sections:
LAND USE PLANNING The Land Use Planning Section, current planning, is responsible for implementation of the land use code, involving processing land use applications and providing information to the public. Land use applications consist of land use or development requests: zone changes, conditional use permits, land divisions, amendments to community plans and more. To find out more, visit the Land Use Planning page or one of the following pages:
METRO AND COMMUNITY PLANNING Metro and Community Planning focuses on major, multi-year projects that will yield information and policies to help guide economically, socially and environmentally sustainable growth and development patterns over the longer term. These projects are exploring how and where the city will grow and develop, how to balance compact growth with protection of neighborhood character, how to create walkable neighborhoods with good transit access, what additional natural areas need protection, and how to address neighborhood needs in a neighborhood-based planning context.
NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES Planning and Neighborhood Services are integrally connected - Neighborhood Services contributes to healthy, vibrant neighborhoods by supporting City-recognized Neighborhood Associations, providing grant funding for neighborhood improvements, publishing newslettters and postcards to inform residents of City and neighborhood news of interest and serving as a conduit for the City and community members to work together and share information with each other. More information can be found on the Neighborhood Services page or at:
