The Pet Waste Problem
A little bit of pet waste can add up in hurry when left behind in parks, streets and yards. When it rains, runoff carries pollutants such as bacteria and other toxins into storm drains and ditches that flow directly into our rivers and streams. And when pet waste decays in local waterways, it speeds up the growth of algae and aquatic weeds, using up valuable oxygen that fish need to survive.
Tips to Keep Water Safe and Clean
- Pick up after your pet
- Throw pet waste into a garbage can
