Volunteers In Parks main content
Volunteers In Parks

The Volunteers In Parks program supports citizen involvement in activities such as park beautification, litter control, trail development and maintenance, weeding, and other special projects in Eugene's parks.

Through partnerships with individuals, neighbors, businesses, service organizations, clubs, youth groups, and schools, the program is able to help maintain and improve the park system and keep our parks beautiful and safe for the enjoyment of all park users.

To participate in a Volunteers In Parks project, visit the Parks and Open Space calendar of events and look for upcoming projects, or contact the program's coordinator.

Ways to Get Involved

Adopt-A-Park
Make a long-term commitment to your favorite neighborhood park. We will provide tools, materials, and support; you decide how you want to help out. Eugene parks need ongoing volunteer labor to help pick up litter, paint park benches and tables, prune trees, and clean playground sand. This is a great option for individuals, small groups, or organizations looking for long-term volunteer opportunities.

Adopt-A-Path
Make a long-term commitment to one of your favorite trails or paths. We will provide tools, materials, and support; you decide how you want to help out. Litter pick-up, trail pruning, and trail surface maintenance are just some of the ongoing needs for volunteer labor. Work on Ridgeline trails, Spencer Butte trails, Skinner Butte trails, or one of the many running trails including Pre’s trail, the Amazon running trail, or the Rexius trail. This is a great option for individuals, small groups, or organizations looking for long-term volunteer opportunities.

Short-term Projects
For a short term commitment, volunteers can participate in a one or two day project. Have fun and meet new people who share a common interest while protecting the environment!
