eugene counts description
What results do Eugeneans want for our community?

Eugene Counts engaged community members from across the city in thinking deliberately about the concrete results they would most like to see the City of Eugene focus on. Using a range of methods designed to capture the diversity of local perspectives, the effort provided an opportunity for people to participate in the ways that felt most comfortable to them, whether it was attending a community workshop, taking part in a focus group, or completing an online survey. Consequently, many who don't traditionally weigh in at city council meetings had the opportunity to make their voices heard.

To see what they said, review the 1/8/10 presentation below.

How will this information be used to inform the City's focus?

The Eugene City Council used the community input to identify a set of concrete results (outcomes) that will be the focus of concentrated effort. Now that those outcomes have been finalized, strategies and measures are being developed to help move toward those results, and to track progress. Next, an interactive online Eugene Counts Dashboard will debut in the fall to easily and clearly share information about progress and performance.

As we move toward the desired results, it will become clear which strategies are making a difference and which might need adjustment. All along, the goal is to keep Eugene residents in the loop and to inspire greater success in meeting community needs.

Stay connected as Eugene Counts moves forward

Thanks for your involvement so far in influencing the city's direction. Review the presentations above to see where we've been. Follow up by tuning in to Channel 21 or the live webcast on July 21 at the noon work session when the City Council reviews the strategies and measures to advance and track progress toward the results the community asked for. Then in the fall, look for the new online Eugene Counts Dashboard to track the City's progress.

Another great way to stay involved is to become a fan and talk with others on our Eugene Counts Facebook page.
