City of Eugene Spay & Neuter ClinicOne of the City of Eugene's public safety missions is to control the dog and cat population within the city limits in order to ensure a safe community environment.

The City operates the Spay & Neuter Clinic which provides low cost spays and neuters and vaccinations for cats and dogs.  The Clinic is a successful prevention strategy in helping to control Eugene's overall pet population.

Surgery

Spay and neuter surgeries are available by appointment only.  Surgeries are performed in the mornings, Tuesday through Friday.  To schedule an appointment please call (541) 682-3643.

Please note the following surgical requirements:

  • The animal must be between 4 months and 5 years of age.
  • There is an additional $15 charge for pregnant animals.
  • Proof of current rabies vaccination is required for all dogs by the day of surgery.  Otherwise we will provide one for $15.

Vaccinations (Effective 9/27/09)

Vaccinations are available on a walk in basis, no appointment is required.  Vaccinations are available during the following times.

Tuesday through Friday,             1:00 to 5:30 PM
Saturday,                                10:00 AM to 5:30 PM
                                             (Closed 12:30 -1:00 PM for lunch)

Other Services

  • De-worming and flea control products (Frontline & Advantage)
  • Pet identification microchips for $35

Discount Vouchers

The Clinic has a limited number of vouchers available for discounted spays and neuters for City of Eugene residents only.

Sick or Injured Animals

The Clinic does not have the capacity or facilities to treat sick or injured pets.  If your pet is sick or injured please contact you local veterinarian for medical assistance.

Lane County Animal Services

The City contracts with the Lane County Animal Services to enforce the City's animal control ordinances and to provide emergency shelter, lost pet, and adoption services.  For additional information or questions regarding the Lane County Animal Services please click on the above web link or call (541) 682-3645.

Location

The Clinic is located west of Oregon Highway 99 between Roosevelt Blvd. and West 11th Avenue approximately 0.1 miles east of where West 1st Avenue crosses North Bertelsen Rd.
