Online Resources FAQ
What happened to EBSCO?
EBSCO magazine and newspaper databases have been replaced with a suite of databases from Gale/CENGAGE. These databases are acquired through the Oregon State Library as recommended by the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee (SDLAC). Funding comes from the federal Library and Services Technology Act (LSTA).
What do we get with Gale?
The Gale products cover a wide range of topics. You can search many of the databases at once. Click here for a list of all Gale databases. For your convenience, we've also included individual databases listed by subject in the categories to the right.
Why are there still some resources from EBSCO?
You still have access to several EBSCO products such as NoveList Plus, Auto Repair Reference Center, Small Engine Repair, and Home Improvement Reference Center. These subscriptions were purchased outside of the State Library periodicals package.
How can I request that the library subscribe to a database or other online resource?
Use the purchase suggestion form and specify what you'd like in the "other info" field.
