Eugene sizzles! Community members and visitors are invited to spend their summer outside enjoying this unique series of outdoor concerts, movies, performances, breakfasts at bike bridges, skate competitions and dancing. Enjoy open air movies in our local parks and bring a picnic to the much-loved Sunday afternoon concerts in Washburne Park. Head downtown on Wednesday evenings to take part in everything from Circus Circus! for families, and open air dancing, to a fashion show hosted by local artists.
Details:
-All events are family-friendly.
-Most events are free. Suggested donation for downtown events is one can of food/adult or $1/adult for Relief Nursery. Skate Competitions are $3.
-Bring chairs to downtown; blankets, lawn chairs and picnics to the parks.
-No glass containers, alcohol, smoking, or pets.
-All movies will have subtitles for the hearing impaired.
-Subject to change or cancellation due to weather.

KOOL 99.1 Dance Party & Theatre Teasers
Suggested donation for downtown events is one can of food/adult or $1/adult for Relief Nursery. Dance the night away with KOOL 99.1 DJ Barry McGuire! An evening of dancing and singing along to every song! At 6:00 pm, the evening kicks off with two short local theatre performances. From the thrilling days of yesteryear, when Fred Crafts’ Radio REDUX recreates an exciting episode from, the popular radio series The Lone Ranger, with guns blazing and horses racing. Also enjoy a scene from Lenny Bruce is Back, acted by Paul Rhoden. This one-man show will open at Very Little Theatre this coming December. See for yourself what Eugene’s theatre community has to offer!
Also at this event: Cut your chances of becoming a property or person crime victim. Eugene Police Crime Prevention Experts will be on hand at every downtown event with the latest tips and programs for you and your family.
Imagination Station: Let your creativity flow at M.E.C.C.A’s imagination station! At 6:00 p.m. at every Summer in the City -- Downtown event, be a part of the magic and create your own themed art projects: stickers, hats out of paper bags, headbands, masks, shoe art, face painting and much more!

No Shame Theatre
One theatre. Five minutes. Three rules: 1. All pieces must be original. 2. No breaking anything, including the law. 3. Five minutes and the lights go out. Each show is composed of the first fifteen acts to sign up at 7:30. Welcoming skits, poetry, dancing, monologues, music, and experimental. Bring your friends and bring an act -- or there's no shame in just watching.
