Oregon Bach Festival Presents Mendelssohn July 5 and 6    

photo of performersOregon Bach Festival presents A Midsummer Night's Dream Sunday, July 5, at 4 p.m. in the Silva Concert Hall. Revel in movement and beauty inspired by Mendelssohn's music for Shakespeare's magical play. It's a theatrical staging designed to delight, danced by the Eugene Ballet Company with narration by actors of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Tickets are: $15-$29; discounts available for students and youth (ages 6 & up).

Before the concert, at 3 p.m., the Oregon Bach Festival presents Inside line—Shakespeare and Music, a preview of Mendelssohn’s music, in the Soreng Theater. This event is free.

Then, on Monday, July 6, OBF presents Chamber Series--At Home with the Mendelssohns at 7:30 p.m. in the Soreng Theater. The OBF reprises the approach to last year's sell-out Schubertiade with the re-creation of a musical soirée in the Mendelssohn's storied Berlin home. The performance features: OBF Soloists, OBF Chamber Players, and Jeffrey Kahane, piano. Tickets for this event are $29-$45, with discounts available for students and youth (ages 6 & up).
