Project Homeless Connect event will be March 18, 2010

Project Homeless Connect is a nationwide movement to increase access to services for homeless people and to engage local communities in finding a solution for homelessness.  By convening a one-day, “one-stop shop” event, Project Homeless Connect offers assistance with housing, health care, legal issues, benefits enrollment, treatment and other basic needs to people who are homeless.

This year the event will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Exhibit Hall of the Lane County Fairgrounds at 13th and Jefferson from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

In 2009, 652 community members volunteered and 401 service providers, from medical doctors and beauticians to counselors and child care providers, turned out to help meet the basic needs of our homeless neighbors.

As a result, 1,548 guests received critical services and support during the event and learned about community resources to help them in the future.
