Annual Recruitment for City Boards, Committees and Commissions Now Underway The City of Eugene is seeking motivated volunteers who reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of the community to serve on City advisory boards, commissions, and committees. The annual recruitment began July 14 and will conclude on Friday, September 5. Opportunities are available on a variety of groups including advisory committees to the City Council, departmental advisory committees and intergovernmental committees. The City is recruiting to fill the following vacancies. For some groups, current members whose terms are expiring may apply to be reappointed. • Budget Committee (6 vacancies) Interested persons must submit a complete application; for some groups a supplemental questionnaire is also required. Eligibility and representation requirements vary for each advisory group. For the first time this year, volunteers may apply online at www.eugene-or.gov/bcc. Application materials and more information about the advisory bodies are also available at the City Manager’s Office, Room 105, City Hall, or on the City website. All application materials must be received by the City Manager’s Office, 777 Pearl Street, Room 105, Eugene, OR 97401 not later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008. Materials may be faxed to: Attention Boards Coordinator at 541-682-5414. Interviews will take place October 1-7 and the City Council is scheduled to take action on appointments on October 27. Terms officially begin on November 1.
