Eugene Scores a Hole-In-One!    

The Eugene Airport has landed another hole-in-one with Allegiant Air. The the low-cost airline, that currently serves the Eugene to Las Vegas route, will offer nonstop service to Phoenix. from Eugene beginning Oct. 16. The new service to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport will be promoted with an introductory fare as low as $79 each way. For details go to www.allegiant.air.com.

“We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Eugene community,” Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., president, CEO of Allegiant Air said. “This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled service between Eugene and Arizona.”

Allegiant Air will launch the new scheduled service from the Eugene Airport to Phoenix with two flights weekly on Thursday and Sunday. Service will begin Oct. 16 with flights departing Eugene at 6 p.m. arriving in Phoenix-Mesa at 8:25 p.m. Flights leaving Phoenix-Mesa will depart at 2:55 p.m. arriving in Eugene at 5:20 p.m. Allegiant started low-cost, nonstop service from Eugene to Las Vegas May 10, 2007.

"We're very pleased to have Allegiant Air serve the Phoenix route," said Eugene Airport Director Tim Doll. "This keeps nonstop service to our fourth most popular destination and provides air service to this market for both business and leisure travelers."

Officials with Allegiant say market research and input from local community leaders show the Eugene area community will support the new nonstop flights and low fares to Phoenix-Mesa as an alternative to connecting flights and long drives to other airports. Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route.

Allegiant will partner with 29 resorts in Arizona, including hotels in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Sedona and air/hotel packages are available for as low as $305. The company also provides low-cost car rental service through its partnership with Alamo Rent a Car.
