Do you work with young children? Learn fun ways to help them become "reading-ready"! Come to "Storytime Fundamentals," a lively workshop at the Downtown Eugene Public Library on Saturday, January 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required: call 541-682-8316.

Learn why and how to support kids' developing literacy through everyday activities including talking, singing, playing, reading, and writing. Cara Haakanson and Barbara DeRobertis of Eugene Public Library's Youth Services staff will share updated information from the national program "Every Child Ready to Read," plus favorite storytime books, activities, songs, and expert tips.

This workshop is for adults and counts as training for licensed childcare providers through Family Connections of Lane and Douglas Counties. The workshop is supported in whole or part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oregon State Library.

Sponsored by Eugene Public Library, Friends of the Library, and Eugene Public Library Foundation.
