La Biblioteca Pública de Eugene tiene el placer de anunciar un programa infantil, ubicado en la Sucursal de Bethel. Cuentos y Canciones, para familias y niños pequeños, se presenta solamente en español y es gratis, no hace falta registrarse. Tiene lugar cada sábado en febrero y marzo. Dog Tale Time
Every Saturday in February and March, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Downtown
Starting a week in advance, pre-register at 541-682-8316 for 15-minute reading sessions.
Kids build skills by reading to trained dogs. Dogs and handlers courtesy of PAAWS (People and Animals Who Serve), a local chapter of the Delta Society. Grades K – 6.

This month’s book is
Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos by R.L. LaFevers. In a novel that School Library Journal calls “a combination of Nancy Drew and Indiana Jones,” young Theodosia has her hands full at the Museum of Legends and Antiquities in London. Her father is head curator, and her mother an archaeologist, but only Theo can see and fight the ancient curses that cling to the museum’s artifacts. For grades 4 through 6.

Booker T. Washington: A Play by & for Kids
Wednesday, February 29, 10:15 and 11:00, Downtown
In honor of Black History Month, the students of Drinking Gourd Elementary School, ages five through eight, perform a play for young children about educator and author Booker T. Washington. Audience members get to participate in the show, which is subtitled “A Young Child’s Desire to Learn.” This is the 19th annual Black History Month play performed by Drinking Gourd Elementary School at the Library.

Note: Saturday Family Music Time is on break and will return in May.
