Planning & Development Department

Susan Muir, Planning & Development DirectorWelcome to the Planning & Development Department for the City of Eugene.  I invite you to get involved in things happening in the City.  Learn about development proposals in your neighborhood, find out what’s going on at the Planning Commission, hear the latest on downtown development, look up a building permit, find information on solid waste and recycling, or get information about parking in Eugene.

Our department works as a team toward a more sustainable, livable community by guiding the City’s built, natural and social environments to promote a better quality of life for all residents.  We provide leadership and a regional vision by modeling practices and innovative programs to achieve an equitable social system with access to employment, food, housing, clothing, recreational opportunities, a safe and healthy environment, and social services; a healthy local economy that supports new businesses, jobs and economic opportunity; a healthy natural environment and connected, protected and managed habitats for native plants and animals.

I hope you find the information on these pages useful, and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
