Eugene's Community Vision and 20-year plan for managing growth
City Council approved a recommendation to establish a Eugene-only urban growth boundary (UGB) at their July 20 work session. Based on Council's direction, staff will prepare an adoption package that establishes a “baseline” UGB for 2012-2032, based on the data and analysis gathered and vetted through the Envision Eugene project (including the population forecast adopted by Lane County in 2009). The new boundary will include a UGB expansion in the Clear Lake area to meet the community’s 20-year land need for jobs, parks and schools, and in the Santa Clara area for a community park site. The formal adoption process, including public hearings before Eugene and Lane County, will begin later this year. Check back for updates.
