To maintain the economic strength of downtown, the City of Eugene works closely with private sector partners and developers using available economic tools and City-owned property to foster a vibrant downtown.

Valuable parks and open space resources must be continually evaluated and updated to make sure they’re able to meet the growing and changing needs of the community. To assess what these needs are and to guide future improvements accordingly, extensive planning efforts are undertaken through the Parks and Open Space Planning office.

The City of Eugene Public Works Department designs and manages construction of parks, airport, transportation, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure projects.
