Homelessness in Eugene
On any given night in our community, nearly 3,000 people have no home to return to. Many others are at high risk of being on the streets soon. Ninety-four percent of homeless people who receive services during the year have roots in our community. They are not new residents or just passing through. When people are homeless it causes breakdowns in family support and has profound impacts on our public health, public safety and public education systems.

Addressing the Issue of Homelessness
The City of Eugene works hard to address the issues and conditions surrounding homelessness. More information is available on Council Homelessness Discussions including a Rest Stop Pilot Program Fact Sheet.

The Homeless Car Camping program helps provide siting and linkages to services for those living in a vehicle. The City of Eugene works in partnership with other government agencies and non-profit organizations to address the complex issues related to homelessness. Some of these agencies include:
