Street, Sidewalk, and Path Closures
Olive Street Reopening for Northbound Traffic
Sidewalks Remain Closed for Safety ReasonsMap of street and sidewalk closures near Capstone construction area

The one-block section of Olive Street between 12th and 13th Avenues is reopening for northbound traffic. Olive Street remains closed to southbound traffic and to pedestrians on that block.

The 13th & Olive apartment project’s first phase, on the east side of Olive Street, has been substantially completed, allowing the reopening of the northbound travel lane. However, major building activity continues on both sides of Olive Street.

The area remains closed to pedestrians for safety reasons because of active construction occurring adjacent to the sidewalk areas on both sides. Additionally, frequent closures of the northbound lane are likely during construction hours due to overhead crane movements and the need for trucks and other heavy equipment to offload or cross Olive Street in the construction zone.

The partial reopening of Olive Street, balances commitments made to the public about access with the contractor’s ability to employ practical construction methods necessary to make the reopening work. The safety of the traveling public and the construction workers on the building project is the top priority.

Traffic conditions will be monitored, and traffic control will be modified if necessary. The City’s traffic engineer has worked with Lane Transit District staff to develop alternate routes for buses that currently use the Olive Street corridor.
