Challenge Course

Welcome
The Library, Recreation and Cultural Services Department takes quality of life seriously. Programs offered by LRCS enrich the lives of patrons through diverse opportunities to discover, create, and encourage personal and community growth.

Eugene Public Library
The Library provides a variety of informational, educational, and recreational material to 4,000 patrons every day.
  • The Library’s collection, available at all three locations, includes: books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers, magazines, eBooks, downloadable music, cultural passes, and electronic sources.
  • Library staff provide research assistance and reading suggestions in person, by phone, or via instant message chat.
  • Each year, the Library sponsors more than 900 free events for all ages.
  • Many services are available 24/7 on the Library's website.

Recreation Services
Recreation builds both bodies and brains! Research shows new and different experiences help the brain carve new neural pathways – new ways of thinking – while the physical activity contributes to physical health.
  • Activities are offered for all ages and abilities at six community centers and three pools.
  • Activities, events and classes include performance and visual art, fitness, swimming, social opportunities, pre-school and out-of-school care, and life-long learning
  • View all offerings and register online

Cultural Services
The Cultural Services Division supports the City of Eugene’s vision for an accessible and thriving cultural sector.
  • The division manages the Hult Center for the Performing Arts and the Cuthbert Amphitheater, and operates the Public Events and Public Arts programs
  • Cultural Services also participates in the Arts and Business Alliance of Eugene to ensure community support for the arts and to recognize the influence of arts and culture as an economic driver within the community.
