Police seeking leads in vandalism at Marist High School

Eugene Police are investigating a case of extensive criminal mischief that targeted Marist High School overnight.

Sometime between about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday evening and 7:30 this morning, an unknown suspect broke out 27 windows, causing thousands of dollars in damage.  The school, located off Goodpasture Island Road at 1900 Kingsley Road in Eugene, hosted a basketball game last night, but at this time there is no known connection between the two events.

The affected areas were the weight room and multiple classrooms on the river side, out of view of the front of the school.  Many of the windows were completely shattered, and appear to have been broken using an instrument such as a stick, bat or club.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area last night or who has other information about this crime.  Surveillance footage also will be reviewed for possible evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ofc. Richard Bremer at 682-5154 x1182.
