RFP - 10th & Charnelton 2008

10th & Charnelton Development site RFP 10th & Charnelton RFP Responses

The Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Eugene has received five proposals in response to a Request for Proposals for the redevelopment of the site at 10th Avenue and Charnelton Street. Redevelopment of the 10th & Charnelton site is a key step in the implementation of the Downtown Plan and the long-term Vision for Downtown Eugene.

The Urban Renewal Agency is scheduled to consider the proposals at a work session on July 14, 2008.

Downtown project

Current Featured Project...

WestTown on 8th located on 8th Ave in downtown between Lincoln St and Charnelton St will provide a combination of affordable housing and market-rate live-work rental units. The housing component will include 102 rental units that will be affordable to low-income households earning between 50% and 60% of the Area Median Income. The development also includes nine market rate live-work units located along West 8th Avenue. The design of WestTown on 8th seeks to complement the adjacent WOW Hall and provide an active streetscape. Metro has aligned an array of city, state, and federal resources to make this project possible. The City of Eugene contributed federal HOME funds, the land (purchased with CDBG funds), System Development Charge Waivers, Low-Income Rental Housing Tax Exemption, and a short term loan.
