City of Eugene
Diversity and Equity Strategic Planning is Underway

The City of Eugene is currently working on creating a comprehensive, five-year diversity and equity strategic plan.  The current diversity and equity guidelines have been in place for several years and comments from both employees and citizens have indicated that the current guidelines aren't always clear, and don't accurately reflect the values of the diverse community we live in.  The Eugene City Council recognized these concerns, and asked that a new Diversity & Equity Strategic Plan (DESP) be created.

In conjunction with the University of Oregon's Community Planning Workshop (CPW), the City of Eugene is currently engaging the public through a series of interviews, discussion groups, surveys and workshops, to find out exactly how it can demonstrate its commitment to diversity and equity to the community it serves.

If you would like to get involved in the City's diversity and equity strategic planning process, click on one of the links to the right to find out how.

For more information about the DESP planning process, please contact Jason Mak at the City of Eugene's Office of Diversity & Equity at 541-682-8434, or through e-mail at jason.d.mak@ci.eugene.or.us.
