Enjoy the Bounty of the Earth
Since 1978, Eugene's community gardens have been growing friendships, community involvement, and an appreciation of the land. By giving participants the opportunity to cultivate their own gardens, the Community Gardens Program helps people experience a special connection to the earth and their community.

Sites
There are six community gardens throughout Eugene with a total of more than 300 plots:

  • Amazon at 27th and High
  • Mathews at 15th and Hayes
  • Whiteaker at the end of North Polk
  • River House at 301 North Adams
  • Alton Baker at the east end of the Alton Baker Park parking lot
  • Skinner City Farm at the west end of Skinner Butte Park

About the Plots
  • There are two plot sizes - one approximately 200 square feet for $60 per year, and one approximately 400 square feet for $100 per year. This includes access to garden tools and water.
  • All plots are staked and numbered.
  • Each garden site has a site coordinator who can help answer questions, share expertise, and assist with problems or concerns that arise.
  • Skinner City Farm offers the unique opportunity to reserve organizational plots. These plots accommodate a group of people because they are larger than individual plots (roughly 1,400 square feet). Prices for these plots vary depending on the size of the plot. For more information, call the Skinner City Farm gardens manager at 541-344-8322.
