The Survey Location Books page allows you to display and print pages from City of Eugene Engineering survey books.
1 On
the City Home page, in the City Quick Links section, click PW Engineering:

2 On the PW Engineering page, in the Navigation - Current Level section, click Survey Location Books.
Use either of two search methods to find Engineering surveys on the Survey Location Books page:
1 In the Street box, type or select a street name.
Type the first letters or numbers of the street name to move quickly through a very long list. The program matches each character you type if your typed sequence continues to be part of a name. When a new character you type is not part of a name, the list scrolls to a name beginning with that character. Examples
For example, typing wils scrolls the list to Wilshire. If you type wilst the list jumps back to Tabor St because no street name begins with Wilst .
For numbered streets 10th Ave. or higher, type the first number. (Type 2 for example for 20th Ave.)
Once you select a Street name and click outside the Street box, or press the Tab key or press Enter, the program:
Displays survey records related to the Street name in the Found records area.
Provides street and geographic items related to the selected Street name in the From Segment list.
2 To narrow the Found records list, select a street or item in the From Segment list. (You may need to click the From Segment box twice.) How does the program respond?
Once you select a From Segment, the program:
Displays just those survey records with the From Segment you selected in the Found records area. In situations where multiple From Segments exist, the list most likely displays fewer records than first displayed.
If available, provides streets related to the selected From Segment in the To Segment list.
3 If available, and to possibly narrow the Found records list even further, select a street in the To Segment list.
Notes
The Perform
Search button
works with just the
Street box, and does not use the
values entered in the From and
To Segment boxes. You could click
the button after selecting a street in Step 1 above.
If you select From and To Segment values and click the Perform Search button, the program removes your entries in those two fields.
Use this feature to search for text entered with a record's Street Name, Location Description, From and To Segment. The program looks at all of those fields in the same search, and returns records when it finds your search text in one or more fields.
Typing willamette in the Search String returns those characters in all four fields:

The program finds a search string of consecutive characters anywhere in the field. For example, hill finds Green Hill, Foothill, and Hillside. Another example
Typing wood in the Search String finds those characters appearing differently in several records:

1 If necessary, click the Field Search tab.
2 Type characters in the Search String box.
3
Click the Perform
Search button
or press the Enter
key.
If a successful search occurs, the program displays records in the Found records area.
1
In the Found
Records area, to view a survey, click the plus
symbol
on a line to expand
the display. (Clicking a minus
symbol collapses the display.)
2 On a line that displays in the expanded area, click View Image.
The program opens a Picture Viewer page in a separate browser window displaying the survey. See details below.
Notes
In Field
Search, to clear your entry in the Search
String box, click the Reset Field
button
. (Previously found records remain displayed
until you perform a new search.)

bottom of the list.

Notes
The Survey application opens one Picture Viewer window at a time. If you click a different View Image link on the Survey Locat'n Books page, the new image replaces the current image. You could redisplay an image if you right-click within the Picture Viewer window, outside a displayed image, and then click Back.
The printed image reflects what's displayed in the Viewer at the time you click Print the Image. If you have zoomed in, for example, and are displaying just a portion of the survey book page, only that portion prints.
If you zoom in too closely, a print of the close-up image may not be as clear as the originally displayed image.
The printed image reflects the quality and contrast of the original drawing. If the scanned image displayed in the Viewer is light, the printed image most likely also will appear faded. Different printers and printer toner levels could affect the quality of your printing.
