Notes
Many of the Eugene site
pages are identified with a very long Web address:

Because of the way the Eugene site is created, some of the lengthy site addresses may change over time, which could mean a long address used currently as a reference to view a Web page might not work in the future.
Use the short addresses for a variety of purposes:
Copy and paste them into e-mails and printed documents.
Use them for browser favorites and shortcuts.
Some people refer to a Web address as a "URL". URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator, formerly known as Universal Resource Locator.
A URL is an address which locates a specific resource on the Internet or intranet.
A URL consists of:
An Internet protocol name ( http: , for example, which is one of the standard protocols used to define a method of exchanging data over a computer network).
A domain name ( eugene-or ) with a domain suffix (such as gov or com ).
Optionally other elements such as a port, directory and file name.
The URL displayed in the address bar (or URL bar) on the Web page indicates the current URL, Web page address, path to a file, or other items to be located by a browser.
To view a different page
using the address bar, paste or
type the page's address (or URL) in the address
bar.
