Land Use Map Tips

Tips for the Search tab......

 


The Land Use map displays locations related to land use applications, with the maps organized by stages that occur in the application process.

View details about displaying the maps

Click the Find Land Use Applications link.

On the Planning and Development page, point to Planning, then to Land Use Applications, then click Land Use Application Database.

On the Search Results page, click Land Use Application Database. (Currently – May, 2008 – the link displays as the fourth item in the results list.)

Note  Only these searches at the bottom of the search page display the Land Use Application maps.

Map Tools

When necessary, click a tool to use it. The red outline indicates which tool is selected. In this picture of the tools, Zoom In is selected. In that case, there's no need to click the Zoom In tool to use it with the map.

Note  The tools do not work if the pointer is pointing at a location marker symbol.  Picture of the map symbol that indicates the location of a land use application.

Zoom In – Displays a closer view of an area on the map. With the Zoom In tool selected, do one of the following to get a closer view:

Zoom Out  –  Displays a longer distant view of the area on the map that you click or drag in. Zoom Out works similarly to Zoom In, only in reverse.

Pan  –  Moves the display in the direction you drag the pointer.

Center on Point  –  When you select this tool and click the map, the view refreshes and displays the center of the map at the spot where you clicked.

Reload  –  Refreshes the map display, returning the map to its default zoom state. Removes the small information window the program displays when you click the blue location symbol.

Scroll arrows  –  Moves the display in the direction of the arrow. Click an arrow at the map's edge to shift the map view in that direction.

Search Tab Tips

 

Use either of the following to search:

For example, a search with  glass  returns no results (in May, 2008).

However, if you type  %glass  the search returns names that include  glass :

Navigation Tip

To move from tab to tab, click the text characters on the tab, rather than in the blank space between the tab edges and the text.
