Women's Fire Camp Video Receives a National Award

A video production about the Eugene-Springfield Women’s Fire Camp produced by Metro Government Television Channel 21 was awarded a First Place NATOA Community TV Programming award at the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers (NATOA) 2016 national conference in Austin, Texas. Channel 21 Program Manager, Neil Moyer, and Video Analyst, Keith Testerman, worked with Training Chief Matt Ennis in the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department on the video production. 

Public, Education, and Government (PEG) channels are provided in Eugene, Springfield, and Lane County under Comcast’s cable TV public rights of ways use franchise managed by ISD’s Telecommunications Program.

The video, created as a segment of the monthly “Working City” series produced by the City of Eugene, is an educational outreach tool to share City programs and services with residents.
