Historic Review Board

The Eugene Historic Review Board

In 1975, to help accomplish its historic preservation goals, the City of Eugene established a seven member historic review board (HRB). The board is a subcommittee of the Eugene Planning Commission, and oversees the main components of Eugene’s historic preservation program. The board reviews and makes determinations on the following requests:

  • Listing of properties in the National Register of Historic Places (recommends to the state)
  • Moving of historic landmark buildings
  • Demolition of historic landmark buildings
  • Appeals of historic alteration and demolition permits
In addition to these duties, the board also advises staff on the City's
  • Cultural resource survey program
