Eugene's Dog Parks
Off-leash dog parks were introduced in the late 1990s in Eugene to provide dogs (and their two-legged friends) recreational and social opportunities without leash restrictions. Interest in off-leash dog parks has grown significantly over the years as both pets and owners have realized the benefits of creating parks expressly designed with their needs in mind.
Dogs enjoy free reign and their human companions enjoy the opportunity to network with other dog owners at the four off-leash dog parks.
Most of the parks offer amenities such as wash down stations, dog waste bag dispensers, drinking fountains for owners and their dogs, benches, and pedestrian nodes, or gathering places where trails or paths intersect.
In 2011, Eugene’s first small dog park was created inside the Amazon Dog Park. The park is intended to provide a safe and secure off-leash area for dogs 25 pounds and under. The park was constructed and is maintained by a volunteer group. For information about volunteering with this group, please contact the Lola’s Park Group.
