Downtown Solutions Forum

The Downtown Solutions Forum was held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (PST) at the Lane Community College Downtown Campus. Over 150 participants worked in small groups to discuss their vision for downtown shared spaces and to identify the top actions they believe could help improve those areas.

The full list of action items identified by the tables was transcribed, including twenty-two responses collected via an online survey: Notes from Downtown Solutions Forum Tables and Online Survey Results

Each table identified their top three priorities. Several themes emerged from these identified priorities including:
  • Big Ideas/Picture
  • Health
  • Parks, Plazas and Facilities
  • Programming
  • Public Safety & Behavior
  • Services
  • Welcoming Amenities & Fun

The Council sub-committee which includes Mayor Piercy, Councilor Pryor, and Councilor Syrett, met  to review the results from the forum and discuss next steps. The group will continue meeting to review ideas collected from the event as well as through other methods with the goal of creating a short list of action items that can move forward soon.
