Prevent Crashes

Interesting fact: Collision investigators often use the term "crash" instead of "accident" because they rarely are "accidents" without any apparent cause. Eugene Police has released the following public service announcements about how to reduce crashes by eliminating common mistakes. The PSAs are animated with illustrations and examples of:

  • Following too closely
  • Driving while distracted
  • Running yellow lights
  • Driving while intoxicated

Last year, 2013, there were 701 DUII arrests, four felony DUI arrests, 121 Following Too Close citations, 1,387 Failure to Obey Traffic Device, and 954 Driving While Using a Cellphone.
